Jeep Cherokee Lift Kit
The Jeep Cherokee was launched in 1984 as the first compact utility vehicle that
offered the five-door body style. During that time Cherokee was powered by 4-cylinder
and V6 engines. In 1987 Cherokee offered the optional 4.0-liter inline six. Various
people considered the Jeep Cherokee as the leader in the 4-wheel drive of the
segment of vehicle.
It came with rear-wheel drive, part-time Command-Trac 4-wheel drive, or Selec-Trac
full time 4-wheel drive. The Command-Trac is a shift-on-the-fly unit. The Cherokee
also had a Quadra-Link front suspension design that contributed to quickly aquiring
the reputation of off-road ability. On 1989 Cherokee featured the optional 4-wheel
anti-lock braking system, 6-cylinder engine, automatic transmission, Selec-Trac,
and ABS, which was available in both 2-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive.
Base and plush limited were the available trims during the year 1990. In 1991
the Cherokee came in 4-door sport trim and in 1993 it appeared in an upscale Grand
Cherokee. The following years the Cherokee made greater changes on the safety
equipments and interior look of the vehicle. Cherokee also undergone redesigns
on other models.
