Jeep Cherokee Performance Part
Jeep Cherokee has a 4-cylinder engine that provides only an adequate acceleration
through its 5-speed manual transmission. Most Cherokees are equipped with the
6-cylinder that is strong throughout the speed range. They are delivering fuel
economy as how typical midsize sport utility vehicle do, 15 miles per gallon with
the automatic, while 17 mpg with the manual shift.
The Cherokee is balanced and has tidy dimensions making it quite maneuverable
on most situations. The base suspension is firm, providing a solid ride, absorbing
the worst bumps without grating. The optional Up Country is designed in cruising
through rugged places. The Up Country is an off road suspension for the 1999 Jeep
Cherokee model.
The 1996 Sport Edition can change directions quickly without excessive body roll,
and works pretty well on hard edge off bumps, potholes and broken pavement. But
this Cherokee has a very high noise level compared to its competitors. The 1994
Sport Edition of the Jeep Cherokee offers the optional 4.0-liter six-engine and
four-speed automatic transmission, which is powerful for freeway passing and merging.
However the engine gets a little noisy at speeds of over 45 miles per hour but
stays quiet down at freeway cruising. It is also offering the Quadra-Link suspension
that works well on the street or off-road.
