Jeep Cherokee XJ
The Jeep Cherokee XJ was made since 1984. It has an engine o s AX-5 and BA 10/5
standard engine and GM 2.8-liter V6 as optional until the model in 1986. In 1987
the 4.0-liter engine was introduced. The AX-5 and BA 10/5 were designed for the
4.0-liter I6. It had NP-207 transfer case that was used until 1987, the NP-231
replaced. These two are Command-Trac transfer cases. The front axle used for the
Jeep Cherokee XJ is the Dana 30. On the rear axle of the XJ the most commonly
found is the Dana 35c. In some models there is an optional Dana 44 offered, together
with a towing package. Sometimes the J also appears with a Chrysler 8.25 rear
end.

The Cherokee XJ can have additional accessories that include stainless steel
A-bar, stainless steel and aluminum side steps, wind deflectors for windows and
sunroof, designed to for a more relaxed and comfortable driving experience. The
wind deflectors increase fresh air circulation, help produce temperatures in the
car, reduce glare, misting, wind noise, and draft and rain penetration.
Also included are heavy duty seat covers, that comes in full and rear seat covers,
offering protection from food, drinks, mud, dust, children, pets, foot scuffing,
travel sickness, paint, grease, and oil. The seat covers are made of super tough
nylon with waterproof membrane, available in colors such as navy blue, black,
green, gray, red, and camouflage.
